• In December 2017, the Maharashtra Government announced an exclusive Industrial Policy for Women. Under the policy, first-generation women entrepreneurs who set up micro, small or medium enterprises in the state would be entitled to a capital subsidy of up to Rs 1 crore, depending on location of the unit
  • The state will incur 15% to 35% of the investment cost in a project and will continue to invest at a low-interest rate of up to 5% for a five-year tenure after the production begins
  • To avail benefits under the policy, women need to be 100% owners of their business, in addition to that – 50% of the work force of the business should be women
  • A financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh would be provided to (women enterprenures) for participating in foreign exhibitions
  • For a wider exposure, women-led business will receive Rs 50,000 or 75% of the rent in a domestic exhibition while about Rs 3 lakh for international events. Also, 50% of the expenditure for the exhibition organized for women entrepreneurs will be provided in maximum limit of Rs. 10 lakhs”
